The Elasticity of Time

Just when you thought you were back to normal— you never left.

Remember how excited you were just two weeks ago tonight? That is, assuming you’re excited about Christmas Eve. Yes, that was just fourteen days ago.

How about just one week ago tonight? New Year’s Eve, party time, baby! Remember how that felt?

I know, I know. Might as well have been a year ago.

It’s said that black holes in space have such powerful gravitational pull that they can bend light. The Christmas/New Year’s holiday season bends time itself. Most people don’t think about these things. I’m not most people. Sometimes I wish I was.

This isn’t one of them.

The Yellow Submarine isn’t the only one that got lost in the Sea of Time. It survived with all hands to surface in the Sea of Christmas, so there was a happy ending.
