INVOCATION

I challenge the gods themselves

to convey the euphoria

of a blazing white freeway
taken at 75 mph 
in a solar yellow Jeep

the gunmetal waters to one side

a fence of evergreens

on the other and

“Achilles’ Last Stand”

galloping

from the
speakers
