Today’s Sermon for the Last Sunday in October

...and now the lesson is yours.

Our week of Indian Summer in Colorado Springs gives way to the chill of Deep Autumn tonight. My son just reminded me that Daylight Savings Time ends next Sunday. That’s 2 November. November is next weekend. Think on that.

So let us go forth and enjoy this last day with leaves on the trees—this storm is going to take the rest down for sure, and the trees will be bare in time for Halloween. Nature is more or less on schedule. How about you?

Let us go forth, and to paraphrase Stephen King, borrowing from the one decent concept he had going in that entire Gunslinger series of his, Do not forget the face of your Father.

Go forth in peace. Or don’t. Your choice.
